SAI WAN HO ((TRAINING: MOUNT PARKER)

A new location for this familiar Tai Tam Country Park track that forms part of our full beans Sir Cecil’s Ride route. This start/finish location picked over the original as it provides more direct access to this training route version and avoids having to scale Mount Butler. Its at the full distance end of our training routes but what really sets this route apart is the proportion of natural trail to concrete. That’s a big tick in the box.

THE RIDE 🔥

Whichever approach you take it likely involves mostly highway to get to this location so the ride’s unlikely to be the star of this particular show. However, once again the scooter delivers us to a location that provides direct access to a part of the Tai Tam country park that is not the most accessible.

START / FINISH POINT 🅿️

No official parking but it’s a quiet residential area so plenty of areas to park the scooter.

THE RUN 🍺 🍺

One of our most attractive training routes taking in a good deal of wooded trail and only limited concrete track. We start with a 100m climb, unavoidable in order to reach “ground level” for this otherwise mostly flat, very runnable trail.

The next 3km are prime trail running weaving around the north side of Mount Parker until reaching Mt Parker Road for a steady 1.5km hill climb along the only concrete section of the route. At Quarry Pass Pavilion we take the Boa Vista fork heading south around the island. Just before reaching Tai Tam Reservoir take a sharp left onto the catchwater which blends into some interesting trail around the eastern side of Mount Parker, back towards home.
